Dark Times

Maybe it’s my dark nature. Maybe it’s something else. But there is something emotive about dark electro/breaks that speaks to the soul inside me.

Still an underground genre not widely known, its pounding beats and driving bass lines bring memories of parties in dark warehouses and dingy buildings down random alleys, secret locations visited in the dead of night while the regular world slept.

Artists such as E.R.P. and Plant43 are quite possibly the biggest producers within this underappreciated genre, yet others exist as well.

So too, can be found DJs who’s sublime talents are effective in finding artists who produce within this realm, selecting and mixing sets which inevitably draw the listener in.

One search, DJ is lo/rez. Multiple sets can be found on his YouTube channel, each of them somehow out shining the other. Not only is the beat and flawless, mixing pleasing to the ear, but the visuals which he incorporates into each set are pure eye candy.

It is worth your time to check out his channel, but if nothing else listen to one of his sets and see for yourself what I mean.
